After wrapping up yesterday’s blog, I upgraded my Carrd.co subscription to Pro Plus, unlocking advanced features like variables and password protection. These features immediately proved useful as I connected the site to a real domain and secured it behind password protection for testing.
With this upgrade, today focused on optimizing the website, researching digital product ideas, and setting up Google Analytics to better understand user behaviour. These efforts ensured the system continues to evolve into a dynamic, user-friendly tool.
Connecting to a Real Domain and Protecting the Site
The Carrd Pro Plus upgrade allowed me to:
- Secure the site with password protection, ensuring it’s inaccessible to the public during testing.
- Connect the site to a real domain, which boosts professionalism and lays the groundwork for SEO optimization and lead generation.
Exploring Digital Product Ideas
Pausing the property value estimator feature shifted the focus to digital products that provide value while being quicker to implement. After researching offerings from realtors and investors, I compiled a list of promising ideas:
Top 10 Digital Product Ideas for Real Estate
- Home-Selling Guide: A downloadable PDF with tips on selling a home for cash.
- Equity Calculator: An interactive tool to help sellers estimate their home equity.
- Foreclosure Assistance Toolkit: A guide for homeowners facing foreclosure.
- Neighbourhood Market Report: Insights into local real estate trends.
- Video Tutorials: Educational videos explaining the “as-is” selling process.
- FAQ eBook: Answers to common questions about selling homes for cash.
- Home Staging Checklist: A printable list to help sellers prepare their property.
- Closing Cost Estimator: A calculator to estimate costs involved in selling.
- Exclusive Webinar: Live sessions discussing the benefits of cash sales.
- Discount Codes: Offers for services like moving companies or home inspections.
These products could serve as lead magnets while building trust and providing immediate value to potential clients.
Setting Up Google Analytics
Another key milestone today was setting up Google Analytics, an indispensable tool for tracking website performance and user behaviour.
What Google Analytics Can Measure
- Traffic Sources: Understand how users find your site (search engines, social media, referrals).
- User Behaviour: Track which pages visitors engage with, how long they stay, and where they drop off.
- Conversions: Monitor actions like form submissions or digital product downloads.
- Demographics and Interests: Gain insights into user age, location, and preferences.
- SEO Metrics: Evaluate keyword performance and content relevance to improve search visibility.
How This Supports SEO
Google Analytics bridges data and strategy, enabling targeted adjustments to keywords, content, and user flows. By identifying which areas resonate with users, the site can continuously evolve to meet their needs while improving search rankings.
Refining the User Experience (UX)
Previously, the form capture system was linked to HubSpot’s default signup form. The Carrd Pro Plus upgrade has introduced new possibilities for handling submissions, offering more creative and flexible workflows:
- Automation Tools: The system now has the option to integrate with tools like Make, Zapier, or Airtable. These platforms can streamline workflows, such as automatically adding leads to a CRM or triggering follow-up emails.
- Direct Actions: Alternatively, submissions can send an email notification or execute custom code, providing control over the user experience.
This newfound flexibility allows for more tailored and dynamic interactions, ensuring leads are efficiently captured and managed.
Looking Ahead: Lead Generation Begins
Tomorrow’s focus shifts to the next critical phase: lead generation. Key tasks include:
- Finalizing Form Integration: Connect the form to workflows that optimize lead management.
- Developing the Digital Product: Choose one product from the list and begin implementation.
- Testing Lead Generation: Simulate user interactions to identify strengths and areas for improvement.
Final Thoughts
Day 17 was about refining the system’s foundation, from securing the site to exploring digital product opportunities and setting up essential analytics. The Carrd upgrade and added flexibility in form handling are already proving invaluable, enabling the project to adapt to evolving goals.
